After giving it a lot of thought—and listening to different feedback from you, my readers—I have decided to shift gears slightly and change the structure of my column here on Substack. Instead of publishing twice weekly in a half-free/half-paid model, I will now share free posts that will be sent out once a week on Wednesdays. As always, the writing will be driven by a desire to inspire and will cover a wide range of topics while remaining under the umbrella of exploring what it means to be human.
For almost two decades, I have written from a place of wanting to help others. Though I started out as a non-fiction writer focused primarily on self-help, my career has progressed and now includes fiction, poetry, and children’s work because I think entertainment can be just as powerful as education. In some cases, it’s even more informative and life-changing!
When we share ideas, we can build community and create more pathways to connection. I think when we read something that prompts us to think about life in a different way, it benefits all of us. My hope is that these posts invite you to take a little pause in the middle of your week—one that gives you insight into your own life in new ways—whether it’s from a sneak peek of something new I’m working on, an excerpt from a recent book, a bit of poetry, or a deeper dive into my work in the healing arts as a helping professional.
All of my previous posts will remain on the site and are now unlocked and available for anyone to read. I also plan to explore more of Substack’s offerings and hope to incorporate different types of content in the future, including video. For now, though, let’s start with a little mid-week reset via Words on Wednesday which will arrive directly in your inbox every week when you subscribe (it’s free!).
As always, thank you for being a part of my online community. Whatever has brought you to my column, I’m glad you’re here!
Thank you for your continued support of my work. If you’re interested in reading more of my writing, check out my new book here!
