It’s HERE! My new book, Understanding Gratitude, was just released a couple of days ago. The third installment in the UNDERSTANDING series, it focuses on the importance of shifting gratitude from a daily endeavor to a lifelong embodiment—which is where the true power of gratitude resides. I also explore the nature of gratitude and how we can benefit from it, even when we aren’t feeling it. Scroll down to read a brief excerpt from the book.

What Is Gratitude? (An excerpt from Understanding Gratitude)
Gratitude is something that is often discussed, more often prescribed, and still too often misunderstood or misinterpreted. It is, in effect, one of the simplest things we can access (even children do it without being taught), and one of the hardest things to accurately define. This is because even though gratitude is universally expressed and universally understood, it’s still incredibly personal.
So, what is gratitude, really? And, why do we need gratitude in our lives? Finally, how do we express gratitude? Is there a measure of gratitude that is universally accepted? All of these questions and more are the reason why we are still discussing gratitude today. Thankfully.
Truly understanding gratitude is about more than learning what it is; it’s about knowing how to apply it in your own life to reap its many benefits.
