This is a topic I feel that we may have all seen more often in media (TV, movies, books) than in real life, though it’s also not rare. It comes in many forms, but the most common utterance I can think of from the aforementioned media is something akin to: “Don’t you love me?”

It is often said as an atomic response when one person isn’t behaving the way the other person wants. That looks something like this:

Person 1: Hey, I really need you to do this thing for me.

Person 2: (Pauses) Oh? What is it, and why?

Person 1: Because I asked you to…

Person 2: I’m in the middle of something–
