Our brains are powerful. More powerful than we actually truly know or understand.

But just because they’re so powerful, does not mean we need to tax them or push them—especially in ways that eventually cause us harm. This falls under the idea: Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

Social media and digital consumption are both active and passive forms of stimulation that mimic addictive behavior. While we may think we are positively stimulating our brains by consuming information or entertainment, what we are really doing is taxing it…
